Professional Background

Jerome (Jeb) Schmitt, a manager with Gleason & Associates, joined the firm in 2003. Jeb has over 7 years of experience in business valuation, litigation support, forensic accounting and financial statement audit & analysis. As a senior and a manager at Gleason & Associates, Jeb has gained experience in all lines of business offered by the firm and served on a variety of engagements including intellectual properly litigation, shareholder disputes, commercial construction claims, fraud investigations and lost profit claims. Jeb has also performed a number of business valuations for a wide range of closely held and publicly traded companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Jeb worked for several years at international public accounting firms including Arthur Anderson, LLP and Grant Thornton, LLP as both an associate financial statement auditor and senior financial auditor. In his previous work experience, Jeb served various roles in the fields of financial statement audits, financial analysis, and due diligence. His primary duties as a senior auditor include analyzing client financial statements, designing and conducting tests of financial accounts and critical processes and evaluating the reasonableness of judgments and estimates.

Jeb is Accredited in Business Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a certified public accountant in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Jeb obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accountancy from John Carroll University in 2000. He also attained a Masters in Business Administration from John Carroll University in 2002.
