Forensic Accounting and Financial Reorganization

Forensic accounting involves the application of special skills in accounting, auditing, finance, quantitative methods, research and investigative skills to collect, analyze, evaluate, interpret and communicate financial information that can be presented in a court of law.

Forensic accounting engagements often involve allegations of improper financial activity, including fraud. Improper financial activity can take many forms, but generally encompasses either a taking of assets, or the presentation of financial information that is meant to mislead others. The challenge is documenting, quantifying and presenting information that can prove a theft has occurred, how it happened and how much was lost. We have performed numerous investigations and analyses of alleged improper financial activities for companies, boards of directors, shareholders insurance providers, creditors, federal and state agencies and other affected parties.

Gleason & Associates has also provided detailed analysis related to financial reorganization cases. Financial reorganization services may not always involve a court proceeding, however, these engagements require the same unique skills as forensic accounting. In a financial reorganization, we apply our specialized skills and expertise where companies are being bought, sold and restructured to improve their overall performance.

In both forensic accounting and financial reorganization engagements, our expertise, independence and integrity are tantamount to our clear reports, presentations and credible analyses for all interested parties and stakeholders.

The team at Gleason & Associates has unmatched financial reorganization and business valuation expertise. In addition to our experience as CPAs, CFEs and CFOs, we have individuals that are accredited in Business Valuations (ABVs) and are Certified Valuation Analysts (CVAs).

We have been involved in hundreds of forensic accounting, fraud and reorganization engagements, affecting key issues for clients in strategic planning, valuation concerns, due diligence activities and pro forma financial statements.

We have worked on behalf of debtors, creditors and other stakeholders in reorganizations. We perform financial due diligence, develop or critique business plans and cash flow forecasts, as well as specific investigations of transactions or issues.
