Senior Consultant

Gleason & Associates, P.C. is currently seeking highly motivated individuals for a position as a Senior Associate. Your responsibility will be to provide a broad range of financial consulting including business valuations for litigation and non-litigation purposes; quantification of damages, forensic accounting services and complete financial support in litigation matters including assisting our client attorneys and corporate clients involved with litigation with discovery, financial analysis, depositions, structuring of settlements and assistance as an expert regarding financial matters. The successful candidate will also assist in investigations, arbitration or mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution forms, and the preparation for qualified expert testimony in business valuation and other litigation matters.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • developing lost profit analyses and implementing financial models, as well as conducting comparative and pro forma analyses,
  • reconstructing financial statements and/or records using forensic accounting techniques,
  • determining the value of a business or part of a business for a variety of reasons such as a purchase or a sale, reorganization, or estate planning purposes,
  • analyzing and critiquing opposing party claims,
  • interacting closely with counsel and company representatives to gather and analyze information,
  • drafting preliminary reports of findings,
  • reviewing documents and depositions to identify information related to key damage issues,
  • interpreting and explaining the underlying financial aspects of an engagement to enable counsel to adequately understand the relevant business issues, and
  • assisting in the preparation of expert witnesses to testify at trial or other dispute resolution forum.

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in public accounting and/or consulting. The person in this role will have experience in commercial litigation and/or business valuation engagements, be able to establish relationships with attorneys and know how to structure business relationships.

  • CPA designation preferred. ABV, CVA and other professional certifications are valued.
